22-year-old model worked to deathArts & Entertainment

www.chinabuzz.net22-year-old model Ai Weiwei (艾薇微) from Fuzhou (福州) ever tweeted on her microblog before, “I want to work! Work! Work!” But now, she is unable to do her favorite work anymore, because she died on May 14, 2011 from mixed lineage acute leukemia (MAL) caused by long time of overworking. According to a doctor, her leukemia is likely to do with her being overwrought for work and under the radiation from the strong lights in the film studio for a long time. The case again aroused people’s attention on health and work-life balance.

Horrible translation. No such thing as "MAL" leukemia. Maybe they are referring to AML. Acute myeloid leukemia, also known as acute myelogenous leukemia can be caused by many things, but not being over worked.

Sorry for the horrible translation and causing the unpleasant feeling to you. But according to the original source, she was not suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia; instead she was suffering from 急性混合细胞白血病.

As suggested by Baidu Wiki, and another websites specialized in Leukemia, it is said as Mixed Lineage Acute Leukemia. Sorry for my poor knowledge on pathology, I am unable to explain you the details of this disease and difference between Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Mixed Lineage Acute Leukemia. Maybe you can try google. Thanks!

I did. You're wrong. Stop using Baidu. There is NOTHING resulting according to what you suggested. There are references to Acute mixed lineage leukemia... which is the same as AML Acute Myeloid Leukemia. If you want to look at it, you can see it HERE.

Maybe you can use a softer tone, so you won't give people a negative feeling. :) Baidu is still the No. 1 on China's Internet, no matter how it is criticized. It may not provide me with an official / standard English translation of 急性混合细胞白血病, but it tells me what the disease is, which for me is different from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, as 急性混合细胞白血病 is related to both Myeloid series and lymphocyte series that are affected.

I thank you for your comments anyway, because it helps improve myself.

milieunet, I do not know better. I am happy you think I do, though.

This is not place to discuss this.

Either do it in private or do it on the correct stories.

However, Thanks again for saying I know better. It makes me feel so wonderful. Especially when you post stories which have been politely "lifted" from other sites. Or, as other less tactful members would say, have been "plagiarized."

When you can stop doing that, maybe people will take you more seriously.
