While in the West the nomenclature ‘bear’ is used to define hirsute, heavy-set homosexual men, here in Beijing the ubiquitously glabrous chests of local partygoers means it is merely size that matters. That’s not to say you have to be “this” big to go on the Sobear ride. Wednesday nights at this far-from-ordinary watering hole welcome with open-arms the ‘monkeys’, a term we suspect refers to the kind of slender, well-groomed chaps we’ve seen heading towards Destination on a weekend.

Been to that Godot bar years ago and it was really boring, nobody there, and waiting for Godot the only thing to do. I picked up one of their self-made newspapers before I left, which was nice enough.
