A Mirror reporter interviewed a sales manager for a milk powder producer who described how his company spends several million yuan every year to obtain the personal information of expecting mothers, and millions more to curry favor with hospital administration and staff.

This morning I hit the front page of a Chinese Digg-like site ... in Chinese. It didn't exactly spike my numbers, but it did get me thinking about what the web2.0 means to people in China, and the world at large.

On youku’s front page today is a video entitled: “温州大学保安当众将狗打死” or “Wenzhou University Security [guard] beats a dog to death in front of everybody.”

And though I wish it wasn’t the case, the video shows exactly that.

A Taiwan taxi driver drove passengers around for a day with a corpse sitting in his front seat. The driver claims that he thought his friend was simply sleeping after picking him drunk and watching him inject drugs in to his veins.
