The guy was a worker at one of China's roughly 200 active bear bile farms. Though most bears sit passively while they're sucked of 7,000 kg of bile a year... these six decided to seek a bit of revenge - and a quick meal.

From AP: A drunken Chinese migrant worker jumped into a panda enclosure at the Beijing Zoo, was bitten by the bear and retaliated by chomping down on the animal's back, state media said Wednesday.

More than 100 police in Laiyang City seized control of the city government building for three hours to demand increased wages from the current 650 yuan a month, while in Longhui County, over 1,000 teachers took collective strike over unpaid allowances. Teachers said that local governments had misappropriated 400 million yuan from teachers' allowances over the past 10 years.

Wages are going up, up, up for Chinese workers according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.

ESWN has the translation of a Chinese blog report on the 'most awesome scavengers in history'. In the Guangdong city of Foshan, migrant workers are suspected of being hired by a development company to assist in 'relocation' of the residents that don't wish to move.

Though a pretty big claim, when a group of migrant workers can bring an apartment to its bare shell in under 30 minutes, all while the resident is watching hopelessly, the title of 'most awesome scavengers' might be quite fitting.

Shanghaiist turns the rumour mill with the announcement that China Mobile will launch the HTC G1 Android phone to China. The phone was launched last Tuesday by T-Mobile in the US, and is the first device to run on the Google developed Android platform.
