Dare You To Touch The Untouchable – China News
www.xujianfeng.com — Anonymouse and helmeted, this man is a fighter who literally stands his ground. Waving a bloody red national flag in the air, he has made a statement from the broken edge of his nearly demolished apartment building. He may just be some disgruttled apartment owner who refuses to leave over an unacceptable resettlement scheme. So up there he climbs, using the flag to dare the developer or the local authorities to touch the untouchable.

Original blog alert! When has there ever before been an English language blog by someone working the Chinese government? I'm really asking because there might be and I'm not aware of it.
My favorite part of this piece -
"Fortunately, until now my parents haven’t been bothered. But what if they come one day and throw us a raw deal? What if we still holds tight to our land no matter how good the offer is, and refuse to leave? Given that I’m working for the government, one way to break my parents is for the local government to talk to me first and let me do the persuasion. As civil servants are more likely to bow to their government’s authority, this is a vicious act of extortion in the name of political correctness. "
Damjan - Indeed. Agreed, if not the first, definitely ONE of the first. He's protocol officer... cool.
I read his other posts and they were interesting. I'll be checking back at his blog.
Thanks, guys! I take your words as compliments.
Yes, I'm for real, born and raised in China and now working as Hangzhou government's protocol officer.
There are still moments when I feel my English is inadequate for my thoughts. But guess that's still part of the fun for viewers here to get local with a local.
No need to apologize on your English, that's for sure! I'm sure most everybody on this site will agree: we're glad you're here to add your voice.
