Just when we thought China was becoming more, shall we say, civilized, this video is put up on Youtube of Chinese soldiers shooting Tibetan pilgrims on their way to see the Dalai Lama.

It has English commentary with Japanese ....

Not for the timid, this rather disturbing video is a tough watch even for those of us without a pet cat or dog. This video, put out by Peta, shows some rather inhumane conditions.

To be "fair", the conditions aren't much different than other animals being sent for slaughter in China or Western countries. Just tougher to watch when you're used to cats and dogs as your lap sitter or toe warmer.

Hi all, that last submission made me realize that I never made it entirely clear how to submit YouTube (or other) videos to the Hao Hao Report.

I had put the information in the FAQ, but who looks there, and it was broken regardless. So... here it is:

A lovely song turned into a horrible music video that does not even try to be one.

Writers at The New Dominion were able to view the video which started making rounds among Uyghur independence sites showing the execution of 3 Chinese citizens. While an actual Uyghur connection to the hostage event is practically nonexistent, there is still much significance in that the video was deliberately aimed at a Uyghur audience.

On youku’s front page today is a video entitled: “温州大学保安当众将狗打死” or “Wenzhou University Security [guard] beats a dog to death in front of everybody.”

And though I wish it wasn’t the case, the video shows exactly that.

Tibetan exiles around the world and their supporters plan to use YouTube to commemorate "global uprising day" this Saturday, March 10.

More than 1.2 million Tibetans have since died as a result of the occupation, according to the Tibetan Government in Exile.
