As they paraded cheerfully into the Bird’s Nest stadium in their brightly coloured cultural costumes, the 56 smiling children were described as coming from China’s 56 ethnic groups. The supposedly ethnic minority children were actually all from the dominant Han group.

It didn't work with adults, so the China's Education Ministry thinks it would be better to start with children when trying to promote "ethnic unity". The new classes will run all the way through school, with high school students getting up to 14 hours a year to help them "recognise the superiority of our government and Communist Party's ethnic policies,". Very harmonious.
