Chinese Movie Star Is A Turn On, For Earth Hour’s Turn OffGeneral

www.rayally.comNext Saturday, 27th March at 8.30pm is the Global Earth Hour, organised by The World Wildlife Fund. An event where participating households and businesses, will turn off their lights and non-essential appliances for one hour. Last year, I wrote it was disappointingly not very dim in Beijing. However, this year a new poster campaign hopes to highlight the event to a larger audience.

The posters feature one of China’s young up and coming actresses Li Bingbing. These images have been appearing on bus shelters and Metro stations around Beijing. The Chinese headline roughly translates to, “Turn of the lights and you could be a green environmental star”. The concept plays on the idea of the famous Oscar red carpet, but in this case it’s green to symbolise grass.
