I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Lost Laowai's newest addition - JohnB. John's inaugural post cuts to the heart of something all of us expats in China deal with frequently - the China funk.

John offers some good advice on regaining that lovin' feeling for the Middle Kingdom. Whether it be just some hotpot (and copious amounts of warm beer) with friends, a good book or getting the hell out of China for a while...

The terrible tragedy of the Sichuan earthquake may be months behind us now, but the victims have another very real problem facing them now - the cold. As winter descends on the quake-ravished areas, many are not only without their families and homes, but also decent clothing and blankets to keep them warm. Join photographer Derrick Chang in helping solve this problem.

To help celebrate National Day here in China, the Lost Laowai Blog proudly presents a comedic look at significant events in China over the last 57 years of CPC rule. Tongue in cheek doesn't cover it. Parts are just downright stupid - and I wrote it.

This doubles as the official announcement that Lost Laowai (and in turn, Hao Hao Report) now has a blog. Let us know what you think.
