I'm neither pro nor anti London, but from what I've seen, namely the atrocious bus performance at the closing of the Beijing games, I am far from optimistic. The BJ games turned out quite well I'd reckon.

11 weeks 5 days 14 hours 20 min agoPersonally I would have been much happier if the next games had been awarded to somewhere else. Let someone else deal with all the expense and hassle - but it hasn't worked out that way.
About the handover. All previous handovers were equally rubbish so that in itself is nothing to get upset about. The main cause for concern are some of the eggheads in charge.
But, if we . .
don't send any grannies to a labour camp,
don't expel foreign teachers and other expats,
don't expel migrant workers,
allow people to come ad go as they please [as we do now]
allow people to ask whatever questions they like,
relax and have a good time
- and not keep telling people they are happy
then that should put us a few streets ahead of BJ.
