Well, as any who've visited over the last few days will have noticed - the Hao Hao Report has received a bit of an overhaul. We've upgraded a bunch of things and added some new features, including:

* New Look: We're still working the kinks out of the slick new look. Let us know what you think.

* The Bury Feature: This has been a long time coming - but finally all users will have the ability to "bury" posts that are bu hao.

This cool video (got via Sinosplice) shows the demolition of an old building. Just when the building appears to never want to come down, it does - on top of the poor guy demo'ing it.

That's right folks, we've got our very own dot com (www.haohaoreport.com)! I feel like a parent who's only child has just moved out and got their own apartment. My little baby's all growns up!

I had always promised myself that if the China blogging/news reading community embraced the concept of the Hao Hao Report, I'd take this from being a sub-section of my site and give it its own home.

Hi all, thanks to some user feedback, I've modified the HHR in two small ways. The first being that the HHR story titles now link directly to the original article. Complaints were that the article link was too small. This solves that.

The second is it now takes 5 votes to make it to the main page. As the site is now receiving more traffic (currently about 25,000 visitors a month) and we're nearing our 350th member, I've decided to up this as a way to help maintain the quality of the published stories.

The Hao Hao Report has been added to the latest version of the excellent WordPress plugin - Sociable. The plugin allows blog owners to easily add a collection of icons to their posts making the addition of their articles to various social bookmarking sites (such as this) a breeze.

Mid-December HHR's domain came up for renewal, and with hosting expiring next month, I figured I'd just do a quick transfer rather than dealing with everything twice.

"Quick" turned out to be quite the subjective term, and delay after delay caused the site to remain down for most of the last half of the month.
