In this episode, Sufei takes a trip back to 1930s Shanghai, when her psychoanalyst father shows up for a visit. Sufei's father and his family fled Nazi Germany when he was a baby, so he spent the first few years of his life in China. Together, Sufei and her father return to Shanghai in search of his childhood home.

The international outrage over the shooting of Tibetan refugees attempting to cross into Nepal has intensified today with the posting of a video of the event on YouTube, shot by a Romanian cameraman. The killings were captured on video from the slopes of Cho Oyu at a distance of approximately 1 kilometer. The video clearly shows several of the refugees falling to the ground as PLA soldiers fire rifle shots in their direction.

On youku’s front page today is a video entitled: “温州大学保安当众将狗打死” or “Wenzhou University Security [guard] beats a dog to death in front of everybody.”

And though I wish it wasn’t the case, the video shows exactly that.

Meg over at Violet Eclipse gives us this recent photo-post that shows the eerie side of the off-season in Chinese amusement parks. Funny stuff.

The video is in Chinese, but I thought it'd be worthwhile to see what the Beijing Olympics are doing in terms of advertising towards their Chinese fan-base / Chinese-speaking visitors.
