Living in China brings with it a number of occasions where most can do nothing but scratch their heads and say “WTF?” However, largely by the help of the English-language China blogsphere, we’ve started to create a dictionary that can assist in putting words to the weird, definitions to the disarray and captions to the confusing.

The LICtionary, or Life In China Dictionary, contains terms us expats have created to put form to the fiction that is life in China.

Apple’s first China store is getting close to opening. But how close? TradingMarkets.com reported that the new SanLiTun store would be operational on July 19, well before the Opening Ceremonies kick off on August 8. However, ChinaTechNews, citing a popular Chinese news portal, Sina.com, reports that it won’t be until August. Beijing Apple fans, suss out the truth for us, will ya?

Hi all, thanks to some user feedback, I've modified the HHR in two small ways. The first being that the HHR story titles now link directly to the original article. Complaints were that the article link was too small. This solves that.

The second is it now takes 5 votes to make it to the main page. As the site is now receiving more traffic (currently about 25,000 visitors a month) and we're nearing our 350th member, I've decided to up this as a way to help maintain the quality of the published stories.
