Trademark Dispute Blocks iPhone's Entry into China – Tech-Web
www.tradingmarkets.com — Let's just admit it: the iPhone will never officially come to China. The problem now? Hanwang Technologies registered the i-phone trademark in 2004 - it became effective in 2006. Ah the cruel ironies of Chinese copyright law.

China's trademark and patent laws are largely a joke - designed to allow unscrupulous people and companies to register other peoples trademarks and IPR. This is just one of hundreds of ways that foreigners are hampered in the China market.
The other way is never-ending negative opinions of China.
One day... one day...
I think Hanwang's just looking for a payout, and if Apple doesn't sort it out, perhaps the vendors will.
