An especially unfriendly notice – Warnings

www.danwei.org — Two hundred residents of the Xinxin Garden community in Urumqi, Xinjiang, found this noticed taped to their doors ten days ago: NOTICE Buildings 3 and 4 belong to us. The brutes currently living in them are requested to move out within 7 days. Otherwise, your entire family will be killed.....!!! A developer dispute apparently lies behind the threat. Xinxin Garden was built in 2001 by two property developers who later had a falling out.

I'm sure the local PSB is all over this - working diligently to prevent anything bad from happening and searching for the threatening people - NOT! What is so odd about Chinese policing is how they commonly wait until after something bad has happened to do anything. After someone is killed they seem pretty good at apprehending the criminals (unless they are politically-connected) but the PSB is so terribly bad about reacting to threats of violence in time to prevent tragedy. It seems that threatening and harrassing and tresspassing are not illegal in China.
