When packing for Suzhou, I planned to take a couple of polo shirts with me, not to play polo you understand that would be ridiculous I’m just a fan of the more casual collar.

I found a shop called “Squirrel Shaped Fish” in the centre of Suzhou that had some fine shirts, and at a very reasonable price too. Imagine my surprise when I returned home to find the logo on these shirts was eerily familiar.

Sinosplice has a funny and interesting post about a Chinese children's book that teaches the kids the finer points of how to say, write and draw the likes of machine gun, heavy machine gun, handgun, rifle, semi-automatic rifle, Uzi, revolver, hand grenade, flame thrower, rocket launcher, smoke grenades, tank, aircraft carrier, bomber plane, fighter jet, guided missile, stealth bomber.

It raises an interesting question of is it military propaganda, or just fun for kids. Where's the line?

Cha Han-phil, a reporter with the major South Korean daily Hankyoreh, runs a weblog titled "So, You Still Dare to Go to China?" The provocative title is to draw people's attention, said Cha, adding, "It's like bait and switch." It has certainly worked.

When his latest post, "Shameless Chinese people", hit the front page of the Hankyoreh website, it immediately became a clicking craze, and as many as 120 people replied in a short span of time; some replies took almost a full page.

An excellent post by Rachel, Lost Laowai's most recent (and most active) writer, details the malady of catching SRS - Sinofication Reflex Syndrome - that horrible illness that hits all us expats as we make our annual trek home and end up starting every sentence with "Well, in China..."

Following my first post a couple of days ago, I wanted to post some of the responses I received a couple of weeks ago when I posted this question Linkedin.

It is by no means scientific, but some of the answers were really well thought out, interesting, and thought provoking.
