Richard at The Duck shares an article from the BBC regarding 18 "hospitals" (I, you and everyone should use that term lightly) that have been using fake blood protein in IVs for critical/serious patients.

Is anyone, like myself, just non-pulsed by these "fake (insert something vital here)" reports now? I mean, it's infuriating, frustrating, dangerous, mind-numbingly stupid... and yet... it just seems like another day of news reports from China.

Dental care is an unaffordable luxury for many people around the world. In India, free dental care is available at public hospitals. But the waiting lists are very long. There is another option for those who need a tooth pulled or a denture fitted quickly and cheaply.

"Disguising as reporters to threaten and intimidate others to collect money is cheating and very dangerous to society," Liu was quoted as saying.

In China, people sometimes pose as reporters to extort money from corrupt officials or demand payment for false promises of favorable news coverage.

SHANGHAI - The death toll from a highly infectious virus that preys on children rose to 24 Sunday as it spread to a new province amid heightened efforts by China's Health Ministry to contain it.

The official Xinhua News Agency said an 18-month old boy who died in Foshan city in Guangdong province Friday had enterovirus 71, known as EV-71. Another child who died in the same district on April 25 also tested positive, it said.

The deaths follow 22 already reported in central Anhui province, 1,000 miles to the north. More than 3,000 have been infected.
