A MAN OF CHARACTER(S)

gochengdu.cn -

As with most men of letters, Huang Xiaorong is a man who exchanges intelligence rather than time for money. With the time he reserves for himself, he reads prolifically, dabbling diligently in history, literature and philosophy, but devoted with all his heart to poetry ...

What's with the name of this site? Isn't "go chengdu" sort of already taken by a prominent Chengdu Web site?

This one is managed by the local Chengdu propaganda department. According to whois records, this site pre-dates the other one by years, too.

yes Gochengdu.cn is "older" than Gochengdoo, but it didn't go online till last June. I am just doing my job you know, running this ... site ... and trying to get the good stuff out for people to read. I personally think Chengdu has way too many sites. Why don't CL and Cdoo quit and let this propaganda monster run the show? That would be horrible.

I'm going to go start www.chengdeuxliving.com :)

But yes, I agree -- a disproportional number of sites from Chengdu. Or maybe just a disproportionate number of Chengdu members here at HHR? It's funny though, as when I was in Suzhou it was having a hard time even keeping one active site going in English, and the same for Dalian (things improved up there at all Heiney?)
