Nine Chinese oil workers have been kidnapped in Sudan, state-run media in China reported Sunday. The workers for the China National Petroleum Corporation were kidnapped by "unknown militants" in the Southern Kordofan state in central Sudan, the Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Chinese Embassy in Sudan.

A TV crew from the BBC says it has found a Chinese-made Dongfeng military truck in Sudan, which is evidence that the Chinese government is breaking a UN arms embargo on the African country.
